Amazing technology Of First 128Gb NAND Chip Intel And Micron Production

Intel and Micron have produced the world’s first 128Gb NAND chip using a 20nm process.

Currently producing 64Gb NAND chips on a 20nm process, Intel Micron Flash Technologies (IMFT) is set to begin manufacturing the 128Gb chip in the first half of 2012, which the high-capacity chips showing up in smartphones, tablets and SSDs in 2013.
A package using eight of these chips would put 128GB of storage on the tip of your finger. The new Flash chips are also promising faster transfer speeds, up to 333 megatransfers per second (MT/s).

"As portable devices get smaller and sleeker, and server demands increase, our customers look to Micron for innovative new storage technologies and system solutions that meet these challenges," said Glen Hawk, vice president of Micron's NAND Solutions Group. "Our collaboration with Intel continues to deliver leading NAND technologies and expertise that are critical to building those systems."

The larger capacity chip, when it finally does come to market should enable standard 2.5in drives to hold up to 2TB while Ultrabooks and Macbook Air will be available with up to 1TB of storage.

Intel has also confirmed that mass production of the 64Gb chip is underway so we should be seeing them in devices later next year. Samples of the 128Gb chip will be available in January but because of a new interface and page design they will take longer for manufacturers to test as they will have to develop new controllers and drive firmware to support the chip.

As for the Spotify side of the equation, you’ll need a Spotify Premium account to access the service, but for that £9.99 a month you get unlimited music streaming along with access from your mobile. The app will incorporate many of the standard Spotify features – including the ability to create and manage your playlists, easily share songs with Spotify friends, and see and subscribe to friends’ playlists via their Spotify profiles. You can also share tracks by sending songs directly to other Spotify users’ inboxes.

The competition is based on a points scoring system - the more you participate, the more points you accumulate.

Scoring system:
    1.    Answering the questionnaire (2 points per correct answer).
    2.    By inviting friends and having them join the competition (1 point per friend up to a cap of 20 points per contest).
    3.    By answering the question of the day which will be posted at a random time during the day. Only one participant can answer this question per day. The first one to answer it correctly gets 10 extra points.

Motorola’s 10.1-inch Tegra 2 WiFi-only Xoom tablet priced at £450 in UK

The price of Motorola’s 10.1-inch Tegra 2 powered Xoom tablet has been facing some criticism all this while, but finally the price speculation has tamed down with a better (and official) pricing of the Honeycomb tablet in UK. UK electronics retailer PC World has just put up its Xoom pre-order page with a reasonable £450 ($730). That’s of course the non-3G model, as the 3G model would probably only be available from carriers. In contrast, the 32GB WiFi-only Xoom tablet (the only model) is £60 cheaper than the 32GB WiFi-only iPad, which is its direct competitor. That’s about only £10 more than the 16GB iPad too. Fair enough.

In regards to the 3G version, T-Mobile Germany has also revealed its Xoom pricing, which is €699.95 ($965). That’s just about 95 cents different (in Euro) than the 32GB iPad 3G, which means your preference will probably be straight forward, with no pricing issues affected. Apparently distribution will begin in April, at least for the UK region.
