Window Cell Phones

The headline pretty much sums it up. The location-aware search which is integrated with Microsoft's Bing search engine, won't be available in Singapore when Windows Phone 7 devices start shipping on October 21. No timeline was given on when or if it would eventually be made available. This feature was demoed at the Barcelona-based Mobile World Congress in February when Microsoft first unveiled its revamped mobile operating system. With local search enabled, users will be able to get relevant search results, such as coffee joints when the user queries for coffee, which are in close proximity. Microsoft executives, however, alluded to the company working with partners to create a better app, so maybe there's some glimmer of hope there.
