Entertainment Notebook (HP Pavilion DV 4) Latest eddition

HP Pavilion DV4 is a series of entertainment notebooks that present 14.1” size displays. Everything a HP Pavilion system has can be appreciated, that is if you are prepared to face the multimedia world.
Take for example HP Pavilion DV4-1465dx entertainment notebook, which has an impressive long life battery, a very nice design, a media Center remote control and its performance is great so that you can run intensive applications. The 12-cell battery is impressive and it lasts almost a whole day, but be careful because this notebook is far from portable and you should be willing to face the consequences.

This HP Pavilion DV4 notebook represents a special edition as it has a glossy brown chassis. It might be the best choice for students as it presents a good balance between price and performance and let’s not forget the impressive battery life. It costs $749 and it presents some great components. The processor is a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6500, it presents double speed and performance in a single processor, 4GB of RAM DDR3 and you will enjoy multitasking at a blink of an eye as the spacious 320GB will provide sufficient room for storing all your applications, movies, games, pictures and so on. The graphics that are included are Intel GM400MHD, Windows Vista Home Premium is the operating system installed on it and its Media Center abilities should be mentioned as well at this stage. And if you want to know something about the weight just prepare to carry along about 5.9 pounds without the AC adapter, which will add another pound to your overall weight. Its design is special and not at all ordinary, it presents itself in a mocha-colored shade with subtle lines, which will surely attract some looks at school or on campus.

There are some lighter systems that you can choose, but if you want to be able to type and surf all day long without cables near you, then you must sacrifice your shoulder and carry this notebook around. The best thing to do is to get a comfortable notebook bag or case in order to release the pressure on your shoulder. The glossy finish on the touch pad does look good, but it makes it difficult to move across the surface, and don’t forget about the fingerprints that you will leave. If you get an external mouse you will resolve the issue. But the keyboard remains one of its strong points, keys are glossy but they feel nice and they are quiet, so you won’t disturb anyone when typing. As for the display, it has 14.1” and a 1280x800 pixels resolution along with a 16:0 aspect ratio. Pictures and images look good, colors are bright and clear, will impress you when you’re watching a movie or when you are editing certain pictures. The sound is provided by Altec Lansing speakers and they sound reasonable when watching movies and listen to some interviews, but if you want to smoothly listen to your music you might need to consider the headphones.

As for the external ports, you should know you have all you need: VGA, HDMI, stereo speakers, two headphone jacks and one microphone jack, three USB ports, eSATA, multiformat memory card reader, for expansion ExpressCard/54, networking is provided by the Ethernet and the 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi.
